| Dale began teaching ballroom dancing as a summer job fresh out of high school after having been introduced to folk dancing in his gymnastics class at Highline High. Over the next four years he progressed to Dance Director at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Seattle where he was in charge of training the other dance instructors.
Suzy grew up dancing at an early age. Her parents always danced together and at major gatherings, ballroom dancing was always present. Through her teenage years, Suzy learned ballet, tap and jazz to add to her repertoire of various culture dances she learned as a child. Suzy is a graduate of Mount Rainer High School. When she was 21 she was looking for a job and becoming a ballroom dance teacher sounded like fun. Dale and Suzy met at Fred Astaire Dance Studio. They were married 9 months later!
